Scrabble Sundays: Let it Snow

We don't get snow here in the Silicon Valley, California. I'm sure that some of you went all Hulk with envy as you wake up at 5 am to shovel your car out of an avalanche of snow. Before you pelt me with snow balls think about how much it adds to the holiday spirit. We have had several sunny Christmases in the 70's. It just doesn't quite feel right. The grass is always greener with envy.

I chose to write "Let it Snow" today because for some reason I can't stop singing it this season. My favorite Christmas songs are "All I Want For Christmas" and "Baby It's Cold Outside" (though it's got a bit of a predatory vibe). Still, this has been what I sing all day. What are your current songs you just can't get out of your head? Holiday or otherwise.

I live in New England, so I'm used to getting mountains of snow each year! I do envy your weather, but I can't help agree with how much snow adds to the holidays! Theres nothing better than a beautiful snowfall right at christmas. Or halloween as it was this year! My current song is last christmas by wham!
Are you getting anything for zack to open this christmas? I read online that you should wrap gifts in tissue paper to make it easy for young children to open!

I grew up on the East Coast with snow and more importantly, typically snow on Christmas. Occasionally one of those rare blessings of going to bed just as the snow is beginning to lightly flutter through the night sky, and you woke to an untouched blanket of snow that added a hush to my typically bustling with young children playing, neighborhood. Magical. I always felt like my children were deprived of that and so many other benefits of living there over here. The one that always seems to get stuck in my head is "Merry Christmas, Darling" but once the Christmas music goes on, it matters less which Christmas song it is, it only matters that it's Christmas music!

Samantha: My brother and his family live in New Hampshire and we usually visit around this time. It's intense the amount of snow over there. I love it though because I get to enjoy it for a week and not shovel it and come back to warmth =)
That's a great tip for using tissue paper! I'll have to try that!

Mimi: I was listening to that song yesterday and thought of you!
