Alley Cat.

I bought Zachary this jacket and immediately knew I had to find an "alley" to photograph him in it.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take some with it unbuttoned since he has a pretty short window for pictures nowadays. His shirt says "seriously handsome" =) (from Carter's). His jacket is Target, pants Old Navy, and shoes are Converse.

I love this boy.

And yes, I know it has been a while since I have posted. I do so many shoots and take so many pictures. I have gotten so backed up on blogging because of that and when I finally sit to do a blog I don't even know where to begin. It can be a bit overwhelming. But because I had to start sometime and with something, I started with these. Just because they make me smile.

Chloe

I photographed this beautiful little girl a few years ago when I started photographing children and just as she began modeling. I just adore her and her family! After our session I met them for coffee and they gave me the sweetest Christmas gift. I still display the beautiful ceramic owls in my office to this day. I still feel so touched that they thought of me. Kind gestures make my heart so happy. I just LOVE my job and the people I meet!!!

So, you can imagine my excitement when her mom emailed me about doing another session with not only her but her two boys who are now modeling as well! We even realized that our kids are with the same wonderful agency (JE Models). It was so great to get to spend such a fun day in downtown San Jose with them. Chloe has grown so much but is still the sweetest, silliest, little girl. She really is an amazing model and comes up with her own awesome poses and ideas too! She's been in several ads and even the cover of Disney Fun magazine (I still have a copy). I'm so proud of her and look forward to seeing her star grow even more.

Mackenzie's Tea Party.

I did this session back in November with the super adorable Mackenzie. She was the perfect little model! All smiles, giggles, and full of energy. She laughed every time the lid to the teapot fell off and it was too cute. Such a doll! Have I said how much I love what I do? It is sessions like this that really make my heart sing. I just love capturing kids being kids. Playing pretend. Sharing tea with a furry friend. Fits of laughter. Peekaboo with the canopy. Pure magic. And when they are this cute? Well that's just the Funfetti sprinkles on top!

Gavin

Let me start by saying that yes, the drool was left there intentionally. I think it's super cute. What's cuter than the drool? Well Gavin of course! The blue eyes. The cheeks. Oh, my. Not to mention he is one of the most mellow babies I have ever met. Even though he will be almost a year older than our boy we're still hoping they will be best friends like their dads. Do I smell a 2nd generation bromance on the horizon?

Mary Poppins No More.

Tuesday was my last day as a nanny. Ever. This is such a weird thing to wrap my brain around. I have been a nanny for 8 years now. I've helped teach so many children to walk, talk, crawl, write, read, and potty train. I've even taught some different languages just for fun.

You truly become a part of a family when you nanny. They are entrusting you with the most important people in their lives. And in the process you grow to love these children and they become important little people in your life. Leaving a family is always hard. I miss all of the kids I have already left (miss you Trip!) and will miss these little faces so much. Luckily I will still get to see them as much as I want.

I've been with this family for over one and a half years now. It's so crazy to see how much they have grown.

Here is a recent image that I took of the two of them at the park the other day. More pictures from this shoot to come.

Now onto the next chapter of teaching and playing with my own little guy. =)

New Hampshire: Snow Day

I know. This is a lot of photos from one trip. When you have a photographer who doesn't know when she is going to see these sweet faces again she's going to take as many pictures as she can. And I did. This is probably the last post though. Then I will have some pics from some recent shoots and a new maternity shoot.

(in case you can't tell, yes she is feeding him snow. apparently that is what they do for fun in the snow. so silly)

As I was setting up the frames for our maternity pictures of course the kiddos had to play with them. And I'm glad they did. I just love the little masks they wear out in the snow. Once you see how much snow they eat while out there you begin to understand why they need face protection. =)

XOXO,

Tenley
